Yolobox Hardware

The YoloBox’s major benefit over other hardware of its kind is that it is fully integrated and extremely portable. It’s attractively designed and compact, so you can carry it with you and stream it over wi-fi, Bluetooth, or a hotspot. Because it contains a SIM port and all of the other critical features listed above, it effectively replaces the need for a computer as well as a dedicated ethernet port.

Yolobox Software

You have a lot of options when it comes to software. For demonstration reasons, we plugged our PC and camera into the YoloBox YoloLiv and output to a huge 27-inch monitor. Picture-in-picture view with dynamic scaling and location is possible with the YoloBox YoloLiv.
Better better, you can save your watermark file to an SD card or USB stick and use the YoloBox YoloLiv to view it. Then, right out of the box, your live stream is watermarked. The YoloBox YoloLiv also has a recording function. You may simultaneously record and live stream!

Yolobox is Independent of Computers

YoloBox does not require an external computer, smartphone, or wifi to broadcast. YoloBox can broadcast at up to 1080p, depending on your Internet provider’s available upload speed and platform capabilities. If your upload speed doesn’t allow for 1080p, you can drop it to 720p or lower. YoloBox features a built-in scaler for each input and accepts sources in any of the following resolutions: 720p, 1080i, and 1080p.

Connecting With Yolobox

The YoloBox Pro has a huge touchscreen interface that makes streaming and controlling easy. YoloBox supports a good number of  local HDMI cameras as well as one USB webcam or any camera with USB webcam-like output. You can now utilise FiLMiC Pro to supply switchers like YoloBox with clean HDMI output from iOS, iPad, and select Android devices. Additionally, you can add up to two more sources, such as prerecorded videos from the internal memory chip or a web source by entering the source URL.

Interesting Functions of YoloBox

YoloBox also supports picture-in-picture compositions as well as superimposing graphics for logos and lower thirds (which YoloBox refers to as “watermarks”). YoloBox even allows you to overlay a scoreboard. YoloBox, like Ecamm Live, does include chromakey and remote interviewing capabilities. YoloBox is perfect for more straightforward multicamera field production thanks to its integrated rechargeable 5700mAh battery.

Battery of Yolobox

The battery life is approximately three hours. In retrospect, the YoloBox YoloLiv is putting in a lot of effort and is continuously pushing the envelope when it comes to live to stream. Video encoding from numerous sources while simultaneously streaming is a difficult process. On YoloBox YoloLiv’s credit, you may attach a power bank to the back of the device. Could I suggest some Velcro with double-sided tape to you? You can get these for only RM5.90 at Daiso. To be honest, it’s quite useful in this situation. The YoloBox YoloLiv, by the way, does not include a brightness control. The brightness is always at 100 percent.

Yolobox for Streamers

YoloBox includes presets for broadcasting to Facebook Live, Twitch Live, and YouTube Live. RTMP can be used to configure other platforms or middleware CDNs. If you wish to simulcast on various platforms, you can utilize a middleware CDN, such as YoloLiv’s or any other that supports RTMP.

Example actions for streamers

  • You may customize your live broadcast with logos, watermarks, and rolling captions.
  • Customized PiP features, such as Interview mode, allow you to give your stream a distinct appearance and feel.
  • Feature comment overlays allow you to interact with your audience in real-time.
  • For professional-looking results, the customized scoreboard tool displays a real-time-controlled scoreboard.
  • You can alter the built-in lower-thirds templates or create your own.

All In All Uses of YoloBox

As you know Yolobox makes it possible to stream on the field on social networks and mix several video sources easily and share the output either in a conferencing/meeting application like Zoom or just to record it.

1. Vlogger – The YoloBox Pro will assist you in having an easy-to-use video mixer/monitor/encoder that does not require any computer to work as a Vlogger, whether you do frequent YouTube live or Facebook live, on the field or at a desk.

2. Webinars / Training – If you’re giving webinars or training over Zoom, Skype, or Teams and need to show different video sources, you can use a tool like OBS, which allows you to mix different sources plugged into your computer, but it requires you to use the OBS interface on the computer and the mouse to change scenes, which takes some time. The YoloBox Pro’s tactile interface makes it much easier to use; you can change scenes with a tap on the screen and continue to use your computer’s screen without the need for a dual-screen setup.

3. Live events: Concerts / Conferences / Weddings – With the current economic climate, broadcasting a live event to reach people who are unable to attend has grown increasingly popular. The YoloBox pro is a critical enabler in these scenarios.

4. Sports events – Small sports groups can use YouTube to broadcast their games live.

5. Drone – You can be the first to share an event from the skies by watching a live feed of a bike race or a natural event.

Preparing For An Event with YoloBox

1. Get your sources plugged in – To prepare for your event, gather all of the photos, video sources, and audio sources that you wish to use and combine during the event. These may include:

  • Live Video sources: cameras, webcam, drone
  • Recorded video sources: a PDF or an mp4 video stored on an SD card / USB stick
  • A computer screen (connected via HDMI)
  • Audio can come from the video sources themselves or microphone, audio mixer via line in
  • Pictures for effects, overlays, logo stored on an SD Card

2. Effects & Scenes Set Up – After you’ve connected your sources to the YoloBox, you may begin mixing them

  • Select the various videos sources
  • Prepare overlays you will use (eg logo, watermark, banner)
  • Prepare mixed views e.g. a Picture in Picture setup showing 2 videos at once
  • Manage Comments, Scoreboards, etc.

3. Audio Preparation – You should decide which audio you can use

  • A unique source of audio or multiple ones: manually selected or automatically selected when you switch video sources
  • Audio from the HDMI source
  • Audio from a specific microphone connected to the YoloBox
  • An Audio mixer connected to the line in

4. Scheduling the event – You must first arrange your event by giving it a name and if desired, a schedule.5. If you don’t want to broadcast through the YoloBox, you can use the Monitoring function, which serves numerous functions.Your setup’s output can be utilized for

  • Like a camera as an input for a meeting/webinar tool such as OBS / Zoom / Teams: the HDMI out of the YoloBox Pro will be utilized as an input for a Video capture card (like the Elgato Camlink 4K) connected to your computer via USB and so serving as a “webcam.” The webcam function should be available directly through the YoloBox’s USB C port in the future (Firmware needs to be upgraded to use the UVC USB Video Class protocol).
  • To make a video of the output of your mix that you can distribute. Note that a live feed can be saved to the YoloBox SD card as a backup or for future usage.

Ending Remarks

Globally the YoloBox Pro is a fantastic product combining video switcher, video encoder, streaming and recording capabilities, portability (works on battery), ease of use (tactile tablet interface), and a lot of functionalities: multiple views, overlays, chroma key & scoreboard, etc. YoloBox fills a void in the market that no one else had sort of captured and it does what it does extremely well but after comparing it to the new tech in the YoloBox pro, this is a fast superior unit in terms of video quality now. It is recommended to go for it as it renders colors far more accurately to your camera setup when you live stream or record internally than the original YoloBox so if you’re not overly fussy and two HDMI inputs are enough, this will still get you great results at 1080p.
